Join the Grainger Wind Symphony and renowned horn soloist Peter Luff for a spectacular concert at the Monash University Music Auditorium on French Horn Day. [1]

  • Featured Artists: The Grainger Wind Symphony, conducted by Music Director Roland Yeung, will join forces with selected Monash Musicians.
  • Special Guest: We proudly welcome back internationally acclaimed hornist Peter Luff of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as the featured soloist. [1]

The evening will showcase the compositions of Kazimierz Machala, highlighting his brilliant Horn Concerto in Three Movements and the seven-movement Celtic Scents for Symphonic Band. We are also thrilled to welcome Composer Kazimierz Machala back to Australia for this event. Though he is now based in the USA, Machala previously served as the Principal Horn of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for 15 years.

The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University warmly invites school students, tertiary horn players, and horn enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to participate in this inspiring day of music-making and performance.
