Adam comes from Manly on the idyllic Northern Beaches of Sydney.
Born in 1989, Adam began learning the piano at age 7 and almost
immediately began composing his own music. Adam completed a
Bachelor of Music in early 2017 from the University of Newcastle,
having majored in composition. Later that year, Adam was selected as
one of four participants for the 2017 Tasmanian Composer’s School
where he workshopped and recorded his piece Kenophobia with the
Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. As well as piano, Adam also plays
organ and guitar. Aside from music, Adam likes long walks in the rain,
candlelit beaches and getting caught in the dinner.
PROGRAM NOTES “Rapscillion’s Rhapsody”
Rapscallion’s Rhapsody for wind ensemble is a manic but cheerful
piece with sardonic, jocular overtones and an underlying
bittersweetness. Rapscallion’s Rhapsody takes its inspiration from
Dmitri Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, the works of Percy Grainger,
and the stylings of George Gershwin.
