
In our first concert for 2026, our two soloists are performing works that are well known in the Chinese community. Thier biographies are presented here in English and Chinese languages.
ALYSSA WONG
Alyssa Wong is a violinist with a Bachelor of Science and Music from Monash University’s Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music. Under the guidance of an array of tutors, including Su Tzu-Yuan, Lisa Grosman, Sarah Curro, Dr Anna McMichael and Erica Kennedy, she received her AMEB Licentiate Diploma (L.Mus.A) in 2021 and Fellowship Diploma (FTCL) from Trinity College London in 2025. Whilst studying, Alyssa has been supported by several scholarships and prizes, including the Monash-Pratt Musician Performance Scholarship and the Anna Chmiel Memorial String Award. An avid orchestral player, she was a three-time recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Concertmaster Scholarship where she held the position of Concertmaster of the Monash Academy Orchestra for over 3 years. Additionally, she has performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra and Melbourne Youth Orchestras, participating in projects alongside the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Her chamber music experience includes multiple performances on 3MBS Melbourne and recording the album Side By Side with the Collective Footprints Ensemble – celebrating the music of First Nations and Australian composers. Additionally, she curated a sold-out debut concert as a founding member of the Elaria Quartet at Tempo Rubato. As a soloist, she performed with the Grainger Wind Symphony in Tolga Kashif’s Queen Symphony and is scheduled to perform the Barber Violin Concerto with the Monash Academy Orchestra after winning the 2025 Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance Concerto Competition Prize.
Alyssa has been the recipient of a number of awards internationally, including the Singapore Raffles International Music Festival where she performed at the Parliament House of Singapore, the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Festival, the Cheer Taiwan International Music Competition, Brisbane International Youth Music Festival and most notably, the American Protégé International Piano and Strings competition where Alyssa performed at a winners’ recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
艾麗莎·王(Alyssa Wong)是一位小提琴家,擁有莫納什大學澤爾曼·考恩爵士音樂學院的理學和音樂學士學位。在蘇子媛、麗莎·格羅斯曼、莎拉·庫羅、安娜·麥克邁克爾博士和埃里卡·肯尼迪等眾多導師的指導下,她於2021年獲得澳大利亞音樂考試委員會(AMEB)頒發的準音樂文憑(L.Mus.A),並於2025年獲得倫敦聖三一學院頒發的院士文憑(FTCL)。在學習期間,艾莉莎獲得了多項獎學金和獎項的資助,包括莫納什-普拉特音樂家表演獎學金和安娜·奇米爾紀念弦樂獎。她是一位熱忱的管弦樂演奏家,曾三度獲得副校長首席獎學金,並在莫納什學院管弦樂團擔任首席超過三年。此外,她也曾與澳洲青年管弦樂團和墨爾本青年管弦樂團合作演出,並參與了與墨爾本交響樂團的合作計畫。她的室內樂演奏經驗包括多次在墨爾本3MBS電台演出,並與「足跡樂團」(Collective Footprints Ensemble)合作錄製專輯《並肩而行》(Side By Side),該專輯旨在頌揚原住民和澳洲作曲家的作品。此外,她作為埃拉里亞四重奏(Elaria Quartet)的創始成員,在Tempo Rubato音樂廳策劃了一場座無虛席的首演音樂會。身為獨奏家,她曾與格蘭傑管樂交響樂團(Grainger Wind Symphony)合作演奏托爾加·卡什夫(Tolga Kashif)的《皇后交響曲》(Queen Symphony),並在贏得2025年澤爾曼·考恩爵士音樂與表演學院協奏曲比賽獎後,計劃與莫納什學院管弦樂團(Monash Academy Orchestra)合作演奏。
艾麗莎曾獲得多項國際獎項,包括新加坡萊佛士國際音樂節(她在新加坡國會大廈演出)、馬來西亞青年管弦樂團音樂節、台灣國際音樂比賽、布里斯班國際青年音樂節,以及最值得一提的美國天才國際鋼琴和弦樂比賽(艾莉莎在紐約卡內基音樂廳的獲獎者獨奏音樂會上演出)。
SANDY YAO
Sandy Yao is a flautist whose artistry bridges Western classical and Chinese musical traditions. She completed her major in flute performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, developing a strong foundation in classical technique and ensemble work. Driven by a passion to explore her cultural roots, she pursued advanced studies in Chinese flute (dizi) in Taiwan under masters Ru-Ji Chien and Gu-Zhen Lin, deepening her understanding of traditional repertoire and performance practice. Active on both instruments as a performer and teacher, Sandy has performed with Chinese orchestras in Melbourne and Taiwan. Her previous collaboration with the Grainger Wind Symphony was The Story of Cao, and she is delighted to join the ensemble again for this concert.
姚珊迪
姚珊迪是一位長笛演奏家,她的藝術造詣融合了西方古典音樂和中國傳統音樂。她畢業於墨爾本音樂學院,主修長笛演奏,並在此基礎上打下了紮實的古典技巧和合奏功底。出於對文化根源的探索熱情,她前往台灣師從簡如吉和林顧真兩位長笛大師,深入學習中國笛子,進一步加深了對傳統曲目和演奏技法的理解。身為活躍的演奏家和教師,姚珊迪曾與墨爾本和台灣的中國樂團合作演出。她曾與格蘭傑管樂交響樂團合作演奏《曹操傳》,這場音樂會她將再次與該樂團攜手。
