As The Grainger Wind Symphony celebrates its 40th Anniversary, we’d love to invite you back to be part of this special milestone.
One of the highlights of our anniversary concert will be a combined generational performance, bringing together past and present members of the band for a special item that celebrates the people who have shaped Grainger Wind Symphony over the past four decades.
Our history has been built by generations of dedicated musicians, and this performance is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet current members, and experience the unique sound that comes from bringing 40 years of musical tradition together on one stage. Whether you played with us for one year or many, your contribution has been an important part of our story, and we’d be honoured to have you join us.
Rehearsal & Concert Details
Date: Saturday, 29 August
Venue: Ian Woolf Auditorium, Carey Baptist Grammar School, enter Gate 1, 349 Barkers Road, Kew
- Access to the hall from 4:00 pm
- We’ll rehearse the combined item during the pre-concert soundcheck.
- For anyone who would like extra rehearsal time, you’re also very welcome to attend our regular Wednesday evening rehearsal beforehand.
- The concert will begin at 7:00pm
We hope this will be more than just a performance—it will be a celebration of the friendships, memories, and music that have made Grainger Wind Symphony such a special community for the past 40 years.

You can come to several Wednesday rehearsals and play in some of the works being performed, or just come to the sound check/rehearsal and playing just in the finale “Irish Tune”.
To play, please contact your section manager (see emails below) as soon as possible and let them know who you are and what you want to play. We need to arrange chair, music and stand for you.
