To invest in the future leadership of concert bands, The GWS offers conducting workshops, the climax being full participants conducting a top band. Conductors can better understand the way they are communicating with musicians. All conductors will be recorded on video and audio. Please give your enthusiastic support to emerging teacher and community conductors.
Full participating conductors and Observers book in via our website and TryBooking. mentors are assigned and music prepared. Otherwise no audience.
Some conductors will bring their own work, other conductors will use works from our library. Everyone will be dight reading.
No player subscriptions will be requested as the conducting participants will cover cost of venue and mentors.
Players are still required to hold a current WWCC (or equivalent.
Our COVID Safe Policy remains in place and is adjusted according to Government Policy and Health advice.
Sheet music and folders cannot be borrowed. Instead, photograph the music you want to practice using your mobile device.
Workshops: both workshops are in our usual rehearsal venue at Blackburn High School.
