NEW PLAYERS EOI – DO YOU WANT TO PLAYER AND PERFORM WITH US?

Are you a musician with a passion for wind-band music? Join the vibrant community of the Grainger Wind Symphony and be part of something truly extraordinary.

Since 1986, we’ve been Melbourne’s premier not-for-profit ensemble, driven by our shared love for creating exceptional wind symphony music. Named after the legendary Percy Grainger, our ensemble is more than just a group of musicians – we’re a family dedicated to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a deep appreciation for Australian composers. Drawing inspiration from groundbreaking works like “Music Ecologies” by Southcott and LeBruin, we explore the dynamic intersections of music, culture, and society, offering audiences a unique and enriching musical experience.

But we’re not just about performances – we’re about community. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a budding musician, there’s a place for you in our ensemble. From conductor workshops to collaborative performances with school ensembles, we provide opportunities for growth, learning, and meaningful connections.

As we look to the future, we invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Together, we’ll continue to uphold the legacy of Percy Grainger, champion the works of Australian composers, and inspire the next generation of musicians. Come be a part of something special – come join the Grainger Wind Symphony.

Any suitably experienced and qualified players are welcome to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to play and perform in The Grainger Wind Symphony. We aim to fill all seats required by the composer’s instrumentation. New players are invited to submit an EOI anytime using a Google Form. But first please read the information on our our website the New Players Page click here and then the Players Only Page click here.

We look forward to welcoming you and “trying us out”.
