In 2018, we have booked the Box Hill Community Arts Centre Arbour Room for rehearsal on Wednesday 16 May as Blackburn High is holding a concert and need to use the Music Centre where we normally rehearse.
Where is it?
The BHCAC is 470 Station Street Box Hill, corner of Station and Combarton Streets. There is a small car park on that corner for about 24 cars. Otherwise parking in Combarton Street woudl be adequate for our group.
The BHCAC have a booklet for hirers which includes the Emergency Procedures. It is thorough and takes emergency responsibilities at a high standard. Roland and Allanah are the ones to lead should there be any emergency, To read the booklet please click here
At our normal arrival time of 7.30pm, for your enjoyment the BHCAC is an architect designed arts building with many items in the gallery on display. The booking includes access to the lounge and kitchen where hot drinks can be made. You will need to bring your own milk. The only requirement is that we leave the area as tidy as we found it, including washing up any dishes used.
Our booking for Wednesday 16th May is enter the Arbour Room at 7.45pm, and have the area cleared, chairs put away and out by 10.15pm. A ballet school has the room until 7.45pm.
The Whitehorse Orchestra, director Gerard Keunemann and committee has generously agreed to let us use the percussion equipment of the orchestra free of charge. For your interest, the cost of the venue is double what we pay at BHS.
Roland Yeung, Music Director.
